Reflection
In this book, Paul invites his readers from the communities of Ephesus, composed by both Jews and gentiles, whom he encouraged to live in unity and holiness, evidencing everyday matters.
In this passage, Paul asks us to prove what is acceptable unto Him, something we can’t do if we don’t know Him, or His precepts. So, it presupposes knowledge and relationship with God. Then, the apostle reminds us to don’t participate on darkness deeds, but reprove them. It is not just about saying it is wrong, but about rejecting everything related to it, about exposing what is wrong to the light.
Application
May we proceed in knowing more Jesus, and seeking Him as His presence in our days. May we seek His light, and walk on it, bringing our deeds to light, testing them, and allowing the Holy Spirit to purify us through sanctification. May God bless you!
